Not the best kitchen in Heidelberg, but a relaxed place to sit with nice service

It was very, very good. Great service, delicious food and reasonable prices. The Merlin is definitely worth one (or several ?) visits. Highly Recommended!

Food was delicious. 1 star deduction because we were ignored for over 30 minutes when we came in and sat at the seat, only after I walked to the counter & asked if we were still served today, someone came. The female staff seemed very stressed & annoyed. The male staff, however, was very friendly. We also found the price-performance ratio okay.

What happened to old Merlin? Food is tasteless and overpriced! Even the salad and the sausage salad were totally carelessly slapped on the plate ... It's a shame, because the waitress can't help it, but gets the dissatisfaction from everyone. We will definitely never come back !!! Save the money!

Service was quite slow for 2 beers. The Cafe is big and spacious but not very cossy or atmospheric.

Miss the Merlin from a year ago! Happy hour abolished. I can understand. Probably didn't pay off. Now asking twice (!) As much for a schnitzel and making the portion smaller is very cheeky. We will probably not be back ...

Were in town as tourists and were looking for a location to get hungry quickly. Price-performance ratio for the burgers is very good. Operation also perfectly fine. Would come back.

Well, if you have time and are not thirsty, with a little patience (depends on the waiter) and multiple questions: "What did you want?" even something to eat ..... Please pay ? ....... please pay ..... Price performance: 2: 1?

4 waiters behind the counter, two look up when we come into the almost empty shop, but they look away again and continue talking. Then the table was totally dirty and the pages of the rotting menu stuck together. Then we went, because if it is so unhygienic and disgusting in the visible area, because you don't even want to know what it looks like in the kitchen. Normally, all of this would have been reason enough to leave. But in times of Corona this is absolutely negligent. There are so many exemplary gastronomic establishments, but because of shops like Merlin, all establishments would have to suffer if the shutdown occurs again.

A very nice place outdoors. Not in the tourist center, but close. Reasonable prices for a varied food offer. Good service. I would repeat.

To charge € 6.50 for 1 liter of bottled tap water is really outrageous. The food was unfortunately not good either. The meat consisted almost entirely of fat and the rest tasted like Tk products. Service was friendly nonetheless.

The two of us were there on a Tuesday morning. The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. I planned to have breakfast there, so the waiter made me aware that breakfast is only served on weekends - why? We had the schnitzel and the currywurst once. Both times we were disappointed, the fries are also known from the swimming pool. Such rubbish. In addition, overpriced drinks (Coke 0.4 = 4.10 €!) Not worth a visit.

The place is unpretentious, the food is worth what you spend and the staff are courteous. Halfway through the dinner, the owner, without any protective mask, freed the tables that were unusable to guarantee the distance and filled the room as if Covid-19 did not exist. Shame

I had lunch at this restaurant I ordered a schnitzel Wiener style with fries and a salad. The schnitzel was tough and burnt .Best thing were the fries. I will not come back here .

Were there in the evening to drink a cocktail (for two) and it was relatively little going on. Wait staff passed by very often, but didn't serve us. Then left after 20 minutes without having ordered.

Great atmosphere, sweet waitress and home made food. The outside garden is almost like a beer garden.

There were a total of two. At first we had a very positive feeling from the ambience, but were then very disappointed by the condition. We wanted to change from a sunny place to a shady place, but that would not work, because otherwise the condition gets completely mixed up (we had 2 drinks). However, after two gentlemen asked her it was suddenly possible. We were even allowed to change places. It took a few minutes until we were finally served. Just like we had to wait another 25 minutes when we wanted to pay and she herself said she forgot us. Conclusion: once and never again.

We were a little disappointed when we heard that the menu offered on the website and the happy hour had not been valid for a while and it was just not possible to make a note on the page. The alternatively ordered burger with avocado and bacon was then quite good, although you had to search for the avocado. Staff nice and sitting is also good. The points were deducted for the out-of-date menu

Were there for 2 today. At first the impression was positive, they were served relatively quickly and received the drinks. But then none of the at least 4 waiters felt responsible for us. We also wanted to eat something. After about 20 minutes of hope that someone would ask about us, we called a waiter by hand and ordered a finger food platter from him. We waited for them in vain, despite not having too many guests, especially if you take into account the 4 waiters. After waiting about 25 minutes, we decided to go. The price of the drinks was kindly waived, with the instruction that we should go and look for another restaurant in the future. Thank you very much for this ?

Staff was very friendly. Large mixed salad was fresh and crunchy, sourced locally.

The food was delicious and a huge portion, and the service was nice, but rather slow. I ordered knowing that I would have to get food in me in the next half an hour, and my plate only came after more than an hour (other dinner party member ordered soup, but still). Do not choose this place for a quick bite.

This place is awesome the food is fantastic the price is right the service is over the top anybody that's in Heidelberg should go there for at least a breakfast a lunch or dinner I will go there again and again and again

Five stars for their numerous happy hour deals (check their website to see current offers). We got happy-hour schnitzel and happy-hour salad for 9 euros each and both were terrific. The salad was gigantic, loaded with vegetables and grilled chicken, and really tasty. Outdoor tables and relaxed vibe make for a really fun evening.

Very welcoming and friendly staff. It was my all time best schnitzel place. Unfortunately today with all wonder it was oily and not really tasted good. I hope I receive the same great quality schnitzel next time again.

Had a nice breakfast here. Opens at a good time in the morning, thankfully, as the price for the hotel breakfast we were staying at was far too high. Waitress was very pleasant and helpful.
